Our Mission

St.Mary’s, Pulborough, has stood on its present site for 800 years. It has been the centre of village community life throughout those centuries. As a Grade 1 Listed Building it is important that the integrity of its structure is maintained.

The Friends of Pulborough Parish Church is being reestablished to raise funds for the fabric of the building and to foster a greater sense of responsibility in the community for its own iconic building.

We are seeking those who are prepared to join us by signing up as a member of the Friends so that we can resume this process of support. There will be a succession of events designed both to entertain and to raise funds.

Governance Overview

The Friends of Pulborough Parish Church is a working Group of, and is accountable to, the St.Mary's PCC which is a registered charity, number 1132137. The Friends derives its charitable status from this accountability. Our written terms of reference state that the Friends has two fundamental objectives;

to raise funds for the fabric of the building

to foster community relations

Our success will be determined by how successfully we achieve them. It is aimed at the non church-going residents of the parish.
